I've tried everything that was posted here, as well as on several othere

boards (including re-registering the atl.dll) and it still doesn't work.

Are there any other suggestions out there?

Did you try installing the Windows Update client etc - see link below for download etc

When you use Automatic Updates to scan for updates or to apply updates to applications

that use Windows Installer, you experience issues that involve the Svchost.exe process

Yes I did. I also tried to see if I could get MS Office updates. I ended up

having to install Windows Installer 3.1. The MS Office updates worked, but

the Windows updates still don't.

Thanks for your assistance.

Did you re-register all these files ?

net stop wuauserv

Repeat for the following:

regsvr32 wuapi.dll

regsvr32 wups.dll

regsvr32 wuaueng.dll

regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll

regsvr32 wucltui.dll

regsvr32 wuweb.dll

regsvr32 MSXML3.dll

regsvr32 qmgr.dll

regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll

regsvr32 jscript.dll (depending upon Java installed so it may error)

net start wuauserv
