Guest vijay Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Hi I have now given up i tried installing dot net updates of windows update to get the following errors in turn 0x, 0x643,0x8007F070 etc. So i unistalled all dot net framework using control panel booted and rebooted and rerebooted as requested, as suggested in one of your support documents and used windows installer clean up to clean up. Downloaded dotnet framework redristubutable 1.0 and it fails to install saying it already is installed. So i guess i am going to have to live without dot netframework and think seriously of migrating to linux soon
Guest Darrell Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Apparently, there are still remnants of the .Net Framework 1.0 or 1.1 embedded in your system/registry. Download and install the .NET Framework cleanup tool. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=7A4EFC33-0343-4EE4-B0C4-97BD16967A09&displaylang=en After running the removal tool, restart your system and download and install ..Net Framework 1.1. Go to the Windows Update site and then install any updates for .Net Framework 1.1. Download and install .Net Framework 2.0 and go back to the Windows Update site and install updates for .Net Framework 2.0. Guest vijay Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Hi Tried that reinstalled .net 1.1 then windows update failed for it so i manually tried to install the security patch to be told i didnt have 1.1 service pack 1 installed. Service pack 1 says it is already intalled as part of .net 1.1 and when i tell it to reinstall itself it gives me internal error 2908 {54C33516-0034-4CDB-A2DA-55C0ECEFDA7A} "Darrell" wrote: > Apparently, there are still remnants of the .Net Framework 1.0 or 1.1 > embedded in your system/registry. Guest Darrell Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Is the .Net Framework 1.1 along with service pack 1 listed in Add/Remove programs? Try removing everything again .Net Framework related from Add/Remove programs then follow that up with the removal tool again. This time install .Net Framework 2.0 before .Net Framework 1.1 then go to Windows Update and get any updates for .Net Framework 2.0. After 2.0 is installed and updated, install .Net Framework 1.1 followed by the updates for 1.1. If the problem persists, contact Microsoft tech support support for this issue and they will help you get this issue resolved at no cost to you.
