Your computer is infested with malware. The malware is what is giving you that message. Do the preparatory steps here: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware Then do the specific steps here: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Smitfraud_Trojan When all else fails, run HijackThis and post your log in one of the specialty forums listed at the link above (not here, please). Standard caveat: If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA). Please be aware that not all local shops are skilled at removing malware and even if they are, your computer may be so infested that Windows will need to be clean-installed. Have all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers http://www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User Quote

Two part reply.. Perform Part 1 then perform Part 2. It is suggested that you execute each tool in Normal Mode then in Safe Mode. Part 1 ----------- Use noahdfear's SmitFraud, SpyAxe, SpyFalcon, et. al., removal tool -- SmitRem.exe http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/click%20counter/click.php?id=1 http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic43659.html Part 2 ----------- S!ri's SmitfraudFix http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix_En.php * * * Please report back your results * * * -- Dave http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html http://www.ik-cs.com/got-a-virus.htm Quote

Guest Richard Urban Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Just one program - even McAfee - is NOT going to supply you with all of your security needs. This you have found out, the hard way. You also need a couple of good anti spyware/anti malware programs in addition to what you already have. You can check out Ad-Aware and Spy Sweeper. They are both top notch. If I were you I would get rid of McAfee altogether and use quality individual programs, instead of a program suite. -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User (For email, remove the obvious from my address) "susanh" <susanh@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:66395FD3-28B7-40EE-A397-7149D69AD2BC@microsoft.com... >i have McAffee installed covering all my security needs and with this, i >have > all updates with it and all scans done only come up with one or two > viruses > which it fixes. but the past 2 days, i have a symbol on my task bar that > comes up and says i have a virus and to download virus protect pro. i also > have another one that comes up and says that i need to download dr > antispy. > how do i get rid of these symbols and alerts as they keep popping up on my > screen and are quite annoying.
