All my applications are invisible.

I recently disconnected my monitor from my pc temporarily and just reconnected it. Now the screen shows the desktop but when I try to open the apps they seem to be invisible? I know they are running because they show up in my task bar and when I hover them they do show up in the small form. Even when I type I can see that it is responding, but the window won't show up, all applications do this. In my task bar I also can't tell if my pc is connected to the internet, like it usually would show, it only shows the date and time. When I move my mouse to the left it continues on, as if there is a s
