Guest Ed Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 After running windows update in vista home premium 32 bit, it says (since july 13th) windows is up-to-date, but really it's not. I am able to download and install the new patches manually, and in the update history it says next to the update that the update was installed succesfully, but why did windows update not find these updates through the windows update program? Doesn't matter if I disable the firewall, proxy, and security software, the update program still says that windows is up to date, when it really is not.

Guest Ed Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I have everything checked, automatic update, recommended updates, use microsoft update service, etc. "Peter" wrote: > When you open WU click Settings and see if the items in this snip are > checked. > > > -- > Peter > Toronto, Canada > "Ed" <Ed@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:80E35F7A-3F38-4D15-885A-521901E5A221@microsoft.com... > > After running windows update in vista home premium 32 bit, it says (since > > july 13th) windows is up-to-date, but really it's not. > > > > I am able to download and install the new patches manually, and in the > > update history it says next to the update that the update was installed > > succesfully, but why did windows update not find these updates through the > > windows update program? > > > > Doesn't matter if I disable the firewall, proxy, and security software, > > the > > update program still says that windows is up to date, when it really is > > not
Guest Peter Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I can't find any solution except check carefully that your System Clock is accurate. Other than that I can suggest Microsoft Support which is free for any Update problems. -- Peter Toronto, Canada "Ed" <Ed@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:D4B7C2FE-789D-4A95-B85F-479F0810CA74@microsoft.com... >I have everything checked, automatic update, recommended updates, use > microsoft update service, etc. > > "Peter" wrote: > >> When you open WU click Settings and see if the items in this snip are >> checked. >> >> >> -- >> Peter >> Toronto, Canada >> "Ed" <Ed@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:80E35F7A-3F38-4D15-885A-521901E5A221@microsoft.com... >> > After running windows update in vista home premium 32 bit, it says >> > (since >> > july 13th) windows is up-to-date, but really it's not. >> > >> > I am able to download and install the new patches manually, and in the >> > update history it says next to the update that the update was installed >> > succesfully, but why did windows update not find these updates through >> > the >> > windows update program? >> > >> > Doesn't matter if I disable the firewall, proxy, and security software, >> > the >> > update program still says that windows is up to date, when it really is >> > not
Guest Ed Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Someone said that if updates are available they do not always directly show up in automatic update. He mentioned the updastes I had installed too. Could that be it? "Peter" wrote: > I can't find any solution except check carefully that your System Clock is > accurate.
