Vista Update History Gone

I recently noticed that the Update History in Windows Update is empty and

that the Updates I've hidden before are missing as well (this section is

empty too). I'm not sure when this happened as I don't check this often.

After I ran an update session however, the updates which I installed in that

session do show in Update History, however the old ones are still missing.

Anyone any idea as how to fix this? (I'm also wondering where these update

history lists are stored on the system). I'm running Vista Ultimate btw.

Friendly regards,

Kees Spierings

Start button || Control Panel || Programs

Under Programs and Features - click View installed updates.

Hopefully someone else can answer the rest.

They do show up under Program and Features -> Installed Updates (all the

updates, old and new), it's not really a problem for me, I'm just wondering

what happened to them in the Update History under Windows Update.

Hello Narcan,

Just out of interest. Are you using dual boot with XP?

Don't worry about it. The same thing would have happened if you had had

to clear your SoftwareDistribution folder (e.g. as part of a suggested repair.)

The good thing to note is that Windows Update History is now working

"as designed" for you.

No, just Vista. I'm starting to think it might have something to do with

updating Office, which seems to invoke Internet Explorer, which installs

Windows Update it seems and says that it has added Windows Update to the

control panel (doesn't work in Firefox, not even with ie tab).
