How can I get rid of expired password when I can’t remember my old one? it

PLEASE HELP!!! So i’ve been seeing a lot of people with this issue but nothing quite like mine. when i open my laptop, it shows a screen that says my password is expired and must be changed. so i click yes to change it. Then, there’s a box to type in my old password (which i don’t remember) and a box to type in my new password, and a box to confirm new password. How can i reset my expired password if i don’t remember what my old one was? there’s no “forgot password” option either, so i’m not sure what to do. please help!!!
