2 windows OS installed: one works, but the other that doesnt work is the version with my current files

my laptop had the blue Recovery screen up after i restarted it after an update. i believe this problem happened bcos my recent update failed to install. did my best, asked for help from those who know their ****, searched for methods on the internet and nothing worked. i tried the change OS and the options were Windows 11 and Windows 11 volume 3, i chose vol 3 and it worked. i checked system configuration and my laptop is saying that i have 2 windows OS, one “current” and one default (i believe this is my OS before the problem). the “current” one works but its the old version (i deleted most
