How can I make my laptop differentiate between two of the same wireless keyboards?

I recently bought two 3rd party guitar hero controllers, and I have tried to connect them to my laptop as separate entities, however, I am unable to. I believe that they may the same ID and usb receivers causing them to both be "Player 1" rather than 1 and 2. I have tried to find a solution, such as changing the FriendlyName (not sure what that does other than change the name) but I have yet to find a solution.
