My Local Disk (D:) storage is 99% full but I'm unable to check what takes up so much space in the drive. How do I fix this?

The storage of my D: disk is 99% full, and the category "Other" takes up most of it (256 GB). When I click on it to show me what files belong there, I get a message saying "We couldn't find any folders to show you". I tried Desk Cleanup, but it says there is 0 bytes needed to be cleaned. What could be the problem here?
