Control Alt delete is not working in my system to unlock the laptop.

When I try to open a laptop which is in sleep mode, and use Control Alt Delete, there is no response. My screen is stuck at lock state. It was working sometimes when I restarted but sometimes it is getting stuck in the lock screen and I am not able to open my system.
