I'm having sound problems..

I have a new computer with Windows 11. if I plug in my speakers I can switch the sound to come through the speakers but then it's really difficult to get it back to just coming through the laptop unless I do a complete reset. How can I resolve this? If I connect the TV via the HMI cable I have the same problem... can anyone help?
