Why is there a delay when clicking the power button icon on the windows startup?

Hi, I have a persistent issue where when I go to shutdown my PC via the windows startup power button icon, there is a 1-2 second delay in clicking this icon to bring up the normal power options (Shutdown, Restart, Sleep, etc).My PC worked very good and I did not had this delay. This delay started with the update on late Nov/Dec, do not quite remember the exact date, but it started right after an windows update.Kindly please help.Best regards,Marian
