Why is it that microsoft just closes questions it fails to answer helpfully even after large numbers of people keep reporting it?

People post all the things they tried and how much time it was sucking out of their lives and you just close the subject without saying "Beats me" or "I guess you're just SOL. One example being the difficulty (impossibility?) of using an external dvd drive in Windows 11. There are dozens (hundreds?) more.
