Sound Recorder App on Windows 11. What does "Best" "High" and "Medium" quality represent?

I need to capture audio at a minimum quality of 16-bit and 8,000hz for a project. The Sound Recorder app that is pre-installed on Windows 11 devices does allow you to adjust some settings (like recording format) but when it comes to audio quality, they categories are very generic. They are listed as Auto, Best, High, and Medium. Can anyone give me specifics on what each of these selections represent? In terms of bit, Hz, etc.Cheers,
