Why have most of my desktop app icons disappeared after March 2025 windows 11 update. This has happened on two of my laptops that I use occasionally

After updating 2 of my laptops today, I found that several desktop app icons had disappeared. The only way I could get them back was to run shellappsfolder and manually re-instate them. The icons that disappeared were all non-microsoft..has anyone else experienced this issue
