IE7 told me the page could not be displayed! after clicking the link on the page to download the latest update. This is not right, how can the maunal update not worK! i think its problem with the IE7 explore or with Mircrosoft ! i have also recived diffrent error codes like 8024402f I have also read thorugh some vuage offline help articles which tells me to enable " Automatically Detect Setting under" the connections tab and "lan Settings" in IE options (IE7) please fix this problem soon and update all the support doucments regarding this problem

Guest Pete Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Guys, Yes had the same error, tried all the updates as far as I could see. I also had a problem connecting to the net via wireless, however LAN worked fine. After talking with the ISP it appears windoz likes to put funny DNS names in your TCP/IP settings. As someone else stated it could be related to windows defender as I had updated that a while back and after a while it wouldn't update automatically and I had to download the updates manually and install. So the solution to the wireless was set the DNS to auto on TCP/IPv6 and for update, same thing except for TCP/IPv4. So, click on Start/settings/network connections right click local area connection click on properties select internet protocol version 4 select properties click on optain an IP address automatically click on obtain DNS server addresses. Windows update should now work And low and behold defenders looking for updates again!
