Guest Rick2277 Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I get this error code quite often when trying to load updates( mostly Windows Defender). Tech support helped me once and I think we deleted the download from my HD and down re-loaded from MS Update and it worked ok but I don't remember where to delete the down load. Can anyone help?
Guest MowGreen [MVP] Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 8020000D = The destination file system volume is not available. Verify that another program, such as CheckDisk, is not running, which would lock the volume. When the volume is available, Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) will try again. What's being referred to as " the destination file system volume " might possibly be the SoftwareDistribution folder. In any case, either the HardDrive/partition/folder is being locked by some 'thing' that is either guarding or using it. Could be security software or, worse case scenario, MAL[icious soft]WARE.
