Guest Agapitus Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Like many of you, I had trouble with .Net Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 after re-installing. If you go to this site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyou.aspx?familyId=262d25e3-f589-4842-8157-034d1e7cf3a3&displayLang=en near the bottom of the page you will find .NET Framework SDK Version 1.1, download and run. Then go to update site and it will tell you to install .Net Framework. Do this. Again go to the update site and it will tell you to download the Service Pack 1.1. You should find that this will now install. Good Luck.
Guest MowGreen [MVP] Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 The issue involving the update not installing is *directly* related to which antivirus program/security software that one has installed. Either the AV/sec software has not allowed the .NET Framework to install properly or, it's preventing the necessary Service from running that finalizes the installation of the .NET Security update. NAV, McAfee, and AntiVir have been identified as causing these issues when installing .NET Frameworks or subsequent security updates for them. Other AVs *may* be culprits ... until someone posts what they have installed than MS will never know which ones cause issues, will they?<w> MowGreen [MVP 2003-2007] =============== *-343-* FDNY Never Forgotten =============== Agapitus wrote: > Like many of you, I had trouble with .Net Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 after > re-installing. Guest Agapitus Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 You are wrong in this situation. This download has nothing whatsoever to do with the av programme. You cannot download .netframework1.1 service pack 1 if you have .net framework 2 installed. I had to re-load my XP SP2 Media Centre programme and this is where the problem with .Net Framework 1 happens. If you go to the site "geekswithblogs" it will explain it to you. I didn't want to remove or block a part of the programme as they suggested, but I have found that this solution DOES work. Re-install XP on your computer, if you have ..net framework 2 installed, and you will find that the problem and the the repair was resolved is correct. Many Thanks for your comments.
