"is says something is in use of system wink32" means absolutely NOTHING to anybody reading your post. Please post the EXACT error message IN FULL. Thank you.
Guest George Hester Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 If something is in use when you try to install SP2 maybe reboot and try again. If that doesn't help go into Safe Mode and try to install SP2 again. Finally if still no joy, then yes post the error message exactly. A quick way to do that when the message box comes up with the error, is make sure the messagebox has focus then hit control c. Then start your reply and with the cursor in the body of the message, hit control v. -- George Hester ________________________________ "AGhhh help" <AGhhh help@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E35B4715-2F0E-4BE6-A905-38B30AC6239C@microsoft.com... > what happens is it starts with initializing installation but as soon as it is > done with that is says something is in use of system wink32 and i have to > stop that but i dont know how
Guest Peter Foldes Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 It is a good idea when installing the SP2 to shut all scanning services including Anti Virus and Spam and etc, when installing. -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. Guest TaurArian [MS-MVP] Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Yes, leave on whilst downloading. When you are installing then disconnect etc as recommended by Peter.
