Can't Access Microsoft Update

I recently installed a new, larger hard boot drive and cloned all the

data from the old drive to the new. When I tried to access Microsoft

Windows Update, I got the following message:

Thank you for your interest in obtaining updates from our site.

This website is designed to work with Microsoft Windows operating

systems only.

To find updates for Microsoft products that are designed for Macintosh

operating systems, please visit http://www.microsoft.com/mac/.

Also, I get control panel program errors for hotplug.dll and

hdwwiz.cpl when I try to safely remove a USB flash drive. Both

problems seemed to start at the same time.

I am running Win 2K sp4 on a dell pc. Might anyone have a suggestion

on how to fix this?

Go to the MS website and download and install IE6 sp1. This should

rectify the http://www.windowsupdate.com issues.

In case you're accessing the Windows Update via Internet Explorer 6 SP1

(6.0.2800.1106) and still get the error message:

Go to http://winware.org/de/browsertest.php

What's the shown there in the User-Agent line while accessing the

site whith Internet Explorer?
