Guest Dave M Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 I recently installed WSUS 3.0 on a new server. The install went smooth, PC's are connecting to it (directed via AD). I have gone thru and approved all that I desire to. BUT, after almost a week, it still says there are 2.9GB of 434 files left to download (started at @ 700files at 4.3GB?). So my questions: 1. Is there a way to force the downloads? or 2. Is there a way to list the updates needing the files so I can manually download them from the Catalog? Or to remove the ones not needed or maybe stopping the downloads? Thanks! Dave

Guest Kurt Falde [MSFT] Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Is the number still getting lower for the downloads? Whats your internet connection speed like? You can add the File Status column in the updates views and then sort by that to get an idea of which updates are still not downloaded to the system currently. You could also try enabling BITS in foreground mode using the lines from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922330 to do this which should help it download a little quicker. -- Kurt Falde [MSFT] "TaurArian [MS-MVP]" <taurarianREMOVECAPS@gmail.com> wrote in message news:e%23PmUiV6HHA.1188@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > > > "Dave M" <Dave M@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:F0745DF9-1B20-46E3-B1DA-39E1D3A33BE4@microsoft.com... > |I recently installed WSUS 3.0 on a new server. Guest Dave M Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Kurt - I have dual T1's and the # creeps down. I re-sync'ed today and have 441 files to download at 2.978GB - of which only 25.8MB has downloaded in 24 hours. Been at that # for a while. I did also change BITS to the foreground this AM - thanks for that. I can't find how to add the "File Status" column. This is V3.0... Starting to think it may be my IPS(s)... Guest Kurt Falde [MSFT] Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 When you are in the updates view right click up at the top where the column names are and you can select to show other columns. You can then click on the column you want to sort by. -- Kurt Falde [MSFT] "Dave M" <Dave M@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A27E9684-6CDF-451E-A55B-6A22782B76A8@microsoft.com... > Kurt - I have dual T1's and the # creeps down. Guest Dave M Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Thanks Kurt! The one place I DIDN'T click...go figure... Well, at least bit by bit I can manually download the files - starting with Criticals of course!
