Guest brnelson Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I am running xp pro 64 w/sp2. When I go to the windows update site and have it scan for available updates, it responds with "Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page." Using the trouble shooting site solution under that error message does not work. MS is also ignoring emails on the subject. Help?
Guest MowGreen [MVP] Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 You receive a "Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page" error message when you try to install an update http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883614 Internet Explorer generates an error message that states that a page cannot be displayed on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921090 If neither of the above KBs resolve the issue, than post the last 50 or so lines of the WindowsUpdate.log Start > Run > type in %windir%\windowsupdate.log Click OK or press Enter MowGreen [MVP 2003-2007] =============== *-343-* FDNY Never Forgotten =============== brnelson wrote: > I am running xp pro 64 w/sp2.
