Guest snofox Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 My computer will not start as a result of installing SP2 on WP X64. The startup process gets to the log-in screen, but when I enter my password, the computer freezes and I can go no further. This problem began as soon as I installed the update for SP2, and it never did this before the update. Is there any help for this?

Guest snofox Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 A further bit of info: I am operating a dual boot system. Win XP Pro 64 is on the C:\ drive (it was the original operating system), and Win XP Home is on the D:\drive. Normally the system boots into XP Home, which operates fine. If I want to go to 64 bit I have to select it and press enter. Will this setup interfere with the solutions you have sent to me? Could it be the source of my problem in the first place? I can use the computer in 32 bit mode. Can I take advantage of this to fix my problem on the C:\drive which contains XP 64?
