Guest speed512 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Several updates have failed since 8/27 while trying to install update 7.0.6000.381. I keep getting the error code 800F081F. I attempted the fix discussed in the following article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932494/en-us and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927891/. I installed the x86 WUA 3.0, and no changes. I cannot immediately see which of the 927891 Hotfixes would apply for Vista 32-bit and thus did not install any of those hot fixes. Any suggestions? Thanks
Guest pacomo Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I have the same problem. I follow all the steps and ... nothing. Running the same version on Vista Home Ultimate "speed512" wrote: > Several updates have failed since 8/27 while trying to install update > 7.0.6000.381. I keep getting the error code 800F081F. (No reference to that code or its decimal equivalent(s) in either of them?) <title>Windows Update Version 6 error code list</title> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938205 (Live Search for 0x800F081F site:microsoft.com ) <quote> 0x800f081F CBS_E_SOURCE_MISSING source for package or file not found, ResolveSource() unsuccessful </quote> Did you try downloading and installing a problem update manually? With verbose logging? What is the context of the error code then? BTW if you are experiencing problems with an update independent of its delivery you may find more informed help in a newsgroup which specializes in the product being updated (whatever that is.) > > Thanks Good luck Robert Aldwinckle ---
Guest aaronwt Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I have the same problem. I keep getting error code 800F081F. And nothing I can do will get vista to update. I just realized it hasn't been updating for a couple of months. I tried the fixes but they did absolutely nothing. Is MS working on a fix for this. And since you can do an update from a webpage like XP I can't update anything. I have no idea how many updates I'm behind. And I did a fresh install of Vista ultimate 3 months ago. I have no desire to do it again. This is very annoying. I tried a dozen different things and no luck. I get the same error no matter what I try. Guest Shawn Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 If you do get a recovery mechanism please let me know. I've attempted manual download and installation of the update and that also seems to fail. More information and another thread on this can be found here: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2176586&SiteID=17 "speed512" wrote: > Several updates have failed since 8/27 while trying to install update > 7.0.6000.381.
