Guest Richard B Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I have had the following Windows Update file on my system for the past month. I have tried everything I could think of, trying to install it more than seven times in the last month, and every help file I could find to get this to install and it never installs. I cannot find any help info on the error: Code 800719E4 I have scanned for viruses, there are none. I have turned off the firewall, it doesn't help. I have turned off & on various services, no help. I have ran the install by itself, no luck. I have run the install with other updates, it caused the other updates to fail. I don't know what to do next. I can't find the web page to contact Microsoft support via email about this so I am posting it here. The support.microsoft.com isn't any help. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thanks, Richard.. ================== Windows Update Report ================= Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 in Windows Vista (KB937143) Installation date: ‎9/‎8/‎2007 7:18 AM Installation status: Failed Error details: Code 800719E4 Update type: Important Security issues have been identified that could allow an attacker to compromise a system running Internet Explorer and gain control over it. Guest Dwarf Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 RE: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 in Windows Vist I too had problems with this update KB937143, although I don't recall an error message just loss of my internet connection. Try using the procedure as described in my post 'Problematic Updates in Windows Vista', also in this newsgroup, to see if that helps. For your information, I too tried installing and uninstalling this update several times, but it was only when I followed the procedure that I describe in the above mentioned post that I succeeded.
