Win 7 Updates Won't Install

I have tried manual updates for the two captioned updates (for MS Office 2007 and Powerpoint Viewer 2007). I have already got MS Office Suite Service Pack 2 installed. I have tried manually installing many times but it always fails. Message error code 646 with supplementary information "WindowsUpdate_00000646" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

 

 

 

Could you please help me. I need to get these important updates installed.

Thank you , but unfortunately it didn't work. I followed your steps precisely and the updates still failed to insatall. (I did it all twice actually.) Do you think I should try the agressive mode in Fixit? I am am bit cautious about that.

Fixit will not harm anything. I would try all steps and see if that fixes the problem.
