Guest Ronald E. Foltz Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I have automatic updates on. the last update was"windows malicioussoftware removal tool ( (KB890830) when i installed it, it caused my computer to crash but i wasn't aware that was the cause, at the time. . .after finally getting it up and running again (used systgem restore) got the update icon in the tray again so installed it again. computer crashed again. . used system restore again . . have update icon in tray again. . this time i checked the custom install box, unchecked the box for the update, got the window telling me checked items will not be installed, closed window but the update icon keeps coming back. . how can i cancell out the update and remove the icon from the task tray . . . hope this wasn't to lengthy. . . thanks for any help with this. .
