Guest TaurArian [MS-MVP] Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Gee, that's an oldie - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=94aeee3b-955d-47e1-9f8f-c07e21ec268f&DisplayLang=en Updates can be downloaded from the Catalog and save to be installed later. http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you want, Click the "Go To Download Basket" link. Type in or browse to the location where you want the updates saved to and then Click the "Download Now" button. Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD. Guest PA Bear Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Is your personal computer running WinXP, WinXP SP1 or WinXP SP2? Does System Restore work on the machine? What happens when you try to connect to the internet? Is Automatic Updates enabled? Does it seem to be working? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.org/ wyoming cowgirl wrote: > How to download Q329441 to a disk or cd so I can download it on my > personal > computer at home. Guest Alan Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Why are people -- other than PA Bear -- giving her links? PA Bear is actually giving suggestions to address her problem. If she can't connect to the 'Net, she can't download all these "fixes." Or am I missing something? Guest TaurArian [MS-MVP] Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 <How to download Q329441 to a disk or cd so I can download it on my personal computer at home.> She is obviously using another computer to download the files she requires for updates. Not uncommon. -- ==================================== TaurArian [MS-MVP] 2005-2008 - Australia ==================================== How to make a good post: http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm Defending your machine: http://defendingyourmachine2.blogspot.com/ http://taurarian.mvps.org/index.htm Emails will not be acknowledged - please post to the newsgroup so all may benefit. Her "newsreader": >> [X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000] implies she is using a web browser to post with. So she should be able to use the same web browser to read some suggestions. And, if she can download and burn a CD on that machine presumably she can use "sneaker net" to transfer the CD to her problem machine. Etc. FYI Robert Aldwinckle ---
