Guest James Presland Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Running XP Pro SP2, Office Pro 2003, but Outlook 2007 (Outlook 2003 removed) After installing 10 July updates, Outlook 2007 would not start, with an error message that RHTML (?) was the wrong version, and to put in the installation CD for Office 2003. Having done so, Outlook 2007 would not open. I checked Add/Remove Programmes in control panel, and Outlook 2003 had been installed as well as Outlook 2007. Having worked out during the Office 2007 Beta that they cannot co-exist I removed Outlook 2003. I then repaired Outlook 2007. So it all works again, but it is a bit of a waste of time. Can you promise not to do this to me (and anyone else with Outlook 2007 and Office 2003) again in August? Guest Peter Foldes Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 You can only have 1 instance of Outlook installed at any one time. If you had Outlook 2003 and 2007 installed at the same time then obviously you would have had that issue You can 2 versions of Office installed like Off2003 and 2007 and they can coexist with each other on your system with the exception of Outlook where only 1 can be installed. You select the OL version that you want to use. -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged.
