Guest kpk Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I tried to send an email from the page you said but it never let me submit. Must be using .net 1.1 with the required update that can't be installed. Guest steveinla Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Carey, Your advice is worse than worthless! Everytime I've tried to use tis Update support incident request I fill in all the required fields, fill in a detailed explanation of the problem and then push "Continue" at the bottom of the screen, everything just reappers that I filled in and nothing contiues to another screen. Would you mind not shooting the messenger? That's simply the way it *should* work. Why it doesn't in your case? I don't know, we don't know (Cookies?). Since the above doesn't seem to work for you, you may consider calling PSS by phone (yeah, that oldfashioned thing, do you remember?): http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS07-040.mspx | Support: | . Guest Rismi Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Thanks, Carey... it has worked and I have received a confirmation number. It might be that it is too busy today with SO many complains... so, people, keep insisting until you can report it. Best wishes! Guest POE Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Ive been reading a lot of forums on this failed update, everybody seems to have an answer but then you read a little farther and in the end it is never fixed.Im new on the computer and I believe that Microsoft should address this problem with a full proof plan.If you find the right answer to this before I do PLEASE post it. Guest surfbabe Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I have the same problem here with my computer, and I to am not really technically minded when it comes to sorting out errors on computers! I have contacted Microsoft and they emailed me with a list of instructions to try and solve the problem with the failing installations. I have tried my best to follow their complicated instructions and got no where! I think I will contact them again and tell them exactly what I think! Guest Hoyaku Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Same problem. This security update for .NET framework Ver 1.1 was downloaded automatically (Windows XP SP2) and shows failure to install as error code 0x66A. This has existed on my computer for a month now, along with the security update for .NET framework Ver. 2.0 (KB928365), which downloaded automatically at the same time, and has a failure to install error code of 0x64c. I have never had a problem with Windows update or MS update before, dont know what the NET framework is, and don't know if I have both Ver 1.1 AND Ver 2.0, as MS Update seems to think I do. I see another user recommends against installing the update to Ver 2.0. Am I better off just ignoring these updates? Is so, how do I stop them from automatically returning, like bad pennies? Or do I finally buy a Mac? What's your advice, folks? Hoyaku Dozo "joefred" wrote: > KB928366 windows update failing
