Guest Turon Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Hi, I had a question about the Office 2003 Pro compatibilty pack for the Offie 2007 suite. There are several Office 2003 updates that are a prerequisite before applying the update for the Office 2007 compatibility pack. Are these updates for Office 2003 (which would bring it up to the current build of 11.8142.8132 SP2) available by any chance through automatic updates? Currrently, the only way that I know of that you can get them is by manually going to the site from each machine and then downloading and installing them (after Microsoft has determined that your copy of the OS is valid) The reason for my question is that soon, our environment will have mixed OS's (Vista Enterprise and XP Professional SP2) with two different Office platforms which raises the compatibility issue between the two. Imaging would address new machines but the existing machines on the network is of concern because some won't take an upgrade of Vista/Office 2007 or their locations on the network, bandwidth issues/WAN connections to the hub of the network won't allow for this application to be applied via SMS or through GP.

If you have installed the latest version of Microsoft Update on the system and/or are using WSUS in your environment - you can get updates for all Microsoft products - not just Windows. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
