Security update KB936048

Recommended Posts

Posted

It has downloaded normally among other updates, but it seems to be the only

one that will not install.

I read thru some of the other posts to see if a similar problem has been

rectified, but I only see items posted with which I myself have done, yet

unsuccessfully.

I did the command prompt, and my ose setting is on "Manual", so I tried

again as instructed to install, but it still fails...what am I overlooking or

not doing?

Office2003-KB936048-FullFile-enu is for Office 2003 sp2.

You would need to root around a little to find that out here:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms07-042.mspx

Do you have something Office 2003ish on your computer?

I don't know what you are overlooking, but there could be Support:

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Customers in the U.S. and Canada can receive technical support from

Microsoft Product Support Services

(http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=2113) at 1-866-PCSAFETY. There is no

charge for support calls that are associated with security updates.

International customers can receive support from their local Microsoft

subsidiaries. There is no charge for support that is associated with

security updates. For more information about how to contact Microsoft for

support issues, visit the International Support Web site

And is included in SP3 for Office 2003:

Not my only omission - I left a 1 out of the U.S./Canada support URL

which should be: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=21131

I've had this same issue and the auto update keeps badgering me to update

everyday. IT WON"T UPDATE PERIOD. It's a pain.

It keeps saying the update failed with error (KB936048)

What in the world is up with this.

The yellow shield keeps poping up every ten minutes to update this.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Driving me nuts.

Thanks for any help on this. I sure can't find any.

I've spent untold hours on this problem.

KB936048 is not an error number. In this thread, Freudi suggested

installing SP3 for Microsoft Office after I provided a link for downloading

Office2003-KB936048-FullFile-enu for MSO SP2. In the course of your hours

of travail, have you attempted either of these two things posted here in this thread?
