Guest Hipper Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 My install for this failed, and failed again on a second attempt, so for the third go I decided to disconnect from the internet and shutdown my firewall, anti spyware and antivirus. I then used the shield in the icon tray to start Microsoft Update and as the item was already downloaded, clicked install. And it did! Horay!!! May be I was lucky but it might be worth a try before any more complicated procedure.
Guest Dennis Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 This also worked for me - thanks. Guest Huskydog137 Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 huskydog137 says This did not work for me, did internet disconnect, and security shutdown, same "failed to install" no error message. Called MS 1 866 727 2338 (9) - PCSAFETY Update Problems and they would not give phone support.
