I cannot hear sounds from my computer and Can't find my install error #?

Windows XP update (KB2718704) ERROR CODE (0x8007001F) I cannot locate this message. also in my device Mgr there is a yellow exclamation point

on (Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-115D).

 

When there was no sound through headphones I tried to check "volume control" and got the message "no audio output device and the properties box said that that pioneer thing was not working............I am really lost..........I thank you in advance for your
