how can i view several pages of the internet on my screen at the same time?

I am not very computer literate, so please bear with me.

On my old laptop which had Windows XP, I used to be able to have open and could view several pages of the internet (by reducing the size of the pages) at the same time, now that I have Windows 7, I can't seem to have several pages open on the screen at the

same time. Please can someone advise me,
