Guest wpr Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Hi all, After installing the KB928365 update today I had problems with toe of my programs: - MS Visual Sudio 2005 sp1 - Paint .NET I've removed the update by uninstalling .NET Framework 2.0 and re- installing it, with all older patches but this one. Now everything works again. Anyone having the same problems? wpr
Guest Mark Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 It wouldn't even install for me. Keeps trying but at the end says it has failed. Then it goes back and tries again. I mean i know what they mean,....but you will know what i mean -) Beste Grüsse / Best regards / Votre bien devoue Kerem Gümrükcü ----------------------- "This reply is provided as is, without warranty express or implied."
Guest E-Town Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I think the files fare actually missing from windows update, I wonder if Microsoft pulled it because of problems but forgot to take the notifier out? I can't get it to install either. "Mark" wrote: > It wouldn't even install for me. Keeps trying but at the end says it has > failed. Guest omron Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Hi. I just ran dotnetfx.exe and chose "Repair". After that I could install the update without problems. Hope this helps. Guest wpr Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I've managed to get it working by disabling my antivirus. Visual Studio worked yesterday but today I start getting the same problems. Loking at the event log for Application It's full of errors: ..NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.832 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A0592A2) (80131506) For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. I have to re-install .Net again and w8 until a new patch comes because this one is a no go. Cheers.

A search of the MSDN Forums for KB928365 shows many people having problems with parts of the .NET Framework which are apparently unrelated. The relationship appears to be this patch! -- John Saunders [MVP]
Guest Madrona Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Not sure if this will help but see: http://blogs.mgtechgroup.com/markc/archive/2007/07/14/Security-Update-for-Microsoft-.NET-Framework-2.0-KB928365-broke-MOSS.aspx -- Madrona "wpr" wrote: > Hi all, > > After installing the KB928365 update today I had problems with toe of > my programs: > > - MS Visual Sudio 2005 sp1 > - Paint .NET > > I've removed the update by uninstalling .NET Framework 2.0 and re- > installing it, with all older patches but this one. Guest David Sharpe Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Try disabling the antivirus software.. The update (KB928365) installed fine.. I rebooted.. No need to mess around with uninstalling and reinstalling .Net Framework "E-Town" wrote: > I think the files fare actually missing from windows update, I wonder if > Microsoft pulled it because of problems but forgot to take the notifier out? > > I can't get it to install either. > > "Mark" wrote: > > > It wouldn't even install for me.
