Administrators AWS Posted January 4, 2013 Administrators Posted January 4, 2013 Windows version - WIndows Server 2008 R2 Standard Automatic Updates - On I am facing two problems with my windows server 2008 R2 installation. 1- windows update error 2-dcpromo error 1-There is this windows server service pack update available but whenever i try to update i reciev the following error Installation was not successful An unknown error has occurred When clicked on details Error code: 0x800f0818 is displayed when going online to resolve it says Run System readiness Tool version 947821 downloaded and installed but wont help the update seems to have stuck. what needs to be done please help. 2- when the command dcpromo is run on the system it check for the binaries and throws a error message Error - Failed to detect if Active Directory Domain Services binaries were installed. The error with no description has occurred. Please Help View this thread
