Curson Jumps Around White Typing & Deletes Previously Typed Sentences

I have Windows 7 on my Asus laptop, and the cursor jumps around while I'm typing an email, posting in a forum or typing anywhere else. It also deletes a whole sentence or paragraph that I've just typed. I have to watch where I'm typing, because I'll

suddenly be typing in the middle of a previous sentence. How can I correct this?
