I get an error 80070663 while installing an update on the computer.

Original title : Cannot install KB2687499 on Windows Vista

 

The microsoft Update Installer continues to detect Security Update Microsoft Office suites (KB2687499) 32-bit Edition as necessary to install on my system and continues to fail. So, I downloaded the update manually but when I run it, I get the message:

"Please wait while update detection is being run." and then I get the message "An error occurred while running detection." I have called the Help Center (SRX1193068976ID) and gave them the windows update error 80070663. The rep sent me the following links:

I followed all instructions and I still cannot resolve the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
