Attempted to update windows 8, black screen of death.

I just got this computer put back together 2 weeks ago. Did fresh install of windows 8, everything worked great. Today I attempted update, when computer restarted I get the back and forth blinking black screen. I can't seem to find a solution so far,

any ideas?
