Can anyone tell me why a message comes up every morning at 1.05am

This message says I am &quottrying to open the file /chkupd&quot and gives me the 2 options to help opening it i.e search the web for the program needed or use windows. I have tried all options and it won't open and I can't get rid of it. It freezes up any game

I might be playing or any website I am on. Thanks
