Do I delete prior package updates when a new one is issued (ie SP2)?

I'm trying to delete any unnecessary programs that are on my computer and I may no longer need. &quotAdd/Remove programs&quot shows the following and I don't know if I need to keep them all. All 4 start with the same prefix: MSXL 4.0 SP2. But each shows a

different &quotKB&quot #: 927978, 936181, 954430 &amp 973688. What do I need to do in this situation and possibly when any updates are installed of any kind, not just these &quotMSXL&quot updates? Do I EVER delete the prior ones? All of ANYONE'S help will be greatly appreciated.
