Windows (RT) check for updates doesn't stop loading.

I'm having problems with windows updates. Both ways of accessing updates, change PC settings and through the control panel, just indefinitely load. Only thing on the screen is the loading circle of dots and on the desktop it freezes up on the system and

security screen.
