I having been trying to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932) it either fails to download or occasionally i have manged to get it to download and have restarted and on close down normally gets to 6% configure before going to

restart when again gets to about 6% configuration before stating failed and reverting changes. I have followed advise on forum in terms of system readiness tool and troubleshooters. I have also tried in clean boot mode but no success.

I am also having trouble applying the following the securty updates KB2742595 KB2737019 KB2729449 and KB2761465.

I am going this on a dell inspiron laptop N5010 - window 7 home premium 64 bit version 6.1.7600 Build 7600.

The other issue I have is when trying to open standard games like freecell I get the following message -

C:Windowssystem32DSOUND,dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again ...................

Again I have tried following advise on forums but no success.

Are the problems interconnected

Any suggestion gratefully received as I have spent many hours so far!!!!!
