Trying to install multiple security updates (40)that have accummulated ...It stops during configurin

win7-For over six months I have been accummulating windows security updates . Windows goes thru the whole procedure but at the restart it messages -Failure configuring windows updates-reverting changes...Is there an answer that doesn't require a mega geek
