How to re-run failed windows updates at a later time?

Someone put a new hard drive in my computer, &amp I've noticed that some of the older windows updates, from the time when he still had the computer, had failed, &amp a few were important or recommended. How can I try to re-run them? When I click on them,

I only get a box with the error code, etc. Thanks for your help
