Administrators AWS Posted February 15, 2013 Administrators Posted February 15, 2013 Some time ago I built a PC with a Windows 7 64 bit operating system with an ASrock 880GMH/USB3 R2.0 motherboard fitted with an AMD Athlon II X 2 260 processor 3.20 GHz which has had an intermittent fault all its life, the fault is that it intermittently does not detect the monitor, when it does that then I have to shut the computer down with the power button as there is a blank screen, once I do that then it will boot up normally for some time, then it happens again, I have worked on this problem for far too long and have decided to change my motherboard and processor, what I wish to know is, "will it affect my Hard drive" I have a recovery disk as well as a system image and file and folder backed up on an external drive, it is not long ago that I fitted a new larger hard drive and did a clean install, so it does not appear to have anything to do with the hard drive, I would prefer not to have to do another clean install as you have to reactivate and I already have reactivated once recently.
