Guest catman Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 HOT fix KB891781 is screwing up my html editor (Homesite 4.5.2). I understand the risks of removing this, but I want it GONE. I did a search on my pc and couldn't find it. I know how to remove it in Windows XP, but I couldn't find the uninstall file. I couldn't find it in the Control Panel either.

Download the update and use the /uninstall command line... http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms05-013.mspx -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
Guest catman Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 This is a brand new Dell. I just got it a couple of days ago. I haven't removed anything. I barely got all the programs I use installed. However, there's a default setting for automatic updates and it downloaded this 'fix' before I had a chance to turn automatic updates off and set up Custom updates at the web site. So - did you uninstall it yet? Download it from the link (the install file for it) and use the /uninstall switch to uninstall it from your computer. Worst case - download it, install it, then uninstall it. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
Guest PA Bear Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Windows version? How have you determined that 891781 (which is critical security update MS05-013 and may have been superseded by a more recent update) is the cause of your problem or that it's even installed? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.org/ catman wrote: > HOT fix KB891781 is screwing up my html editor (Homesite 4.5.2).
