Guest Charles Feller Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I have been trying to down load a Vistas update "Microsoft.net Framework Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB929729) and I keep receiving error message 00000643. I cannot download the update. Has anyone experienced this and if so how were you able to correct it? Thanks
Guest Dimension Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I'm getting the same error, windows update downloads the file, but the install fails all the time with error code 0x643. I seemed to correct this issue by uninstalling framework from "Add Remove Programs" and re installing it. I also found this link in the threads that may help you as well http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100 Hope this helps Cheers. Guest benfelix Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I also have had no problems with updates until this one. I tried the uninstall and reinstall of framework to no avail. Funny thing is my desktop with Vista Basic was no problem on this install however laptop with Vista Home Premium is the one with the problem. I am lost at this point on what to do.. Download was ok and 30 installs over two days have failed .. Only update to fail so far in six months. Maybe someone will get the answer. Guest Charles Feller Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Thanks for trying to help me. Tried to delete the program and reinstall. Could not delete it. Still cannot install the update. Went to the web site and it stated that the program is already in the operating system. Back to square one. "benfelix" wrote: > I also have had no problems with updates until this one.
